Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine (MSU CVM) recently hosted Alumni Reunion Weekend, welcoming back graduates to reconnect, celebrate, and experience the exciting updates at the college. This year, classes ending in 4 and 9 were especially honored, but all alumni were invited to join in the festivities, making it a special occasion for CVM’s extended family.

The weekend kicked off on Friday afternoon with a delightful ice cream social and guided tours of the CVM facilities. For many alumni, this was their first opportunity to explore the college since their graduation, and they were able to see firsthand the incredible advancements and renovations that have transformed the college over the years. Walking through the familiar halls and seeing the state-of-the-art facilities provided alumni with a chance to reminisce and reflect on just how far CVM has come in its mission to train the next generation of veterinarians.

After the tours, alumni gathered at Georgia Blue for a dinner filled with stories from their days at CVM. The event was a relaxed and memorable evening where former classmates reconnected and shared their journeys since leaving campus. Many also enjoyed meeting others from different graduating years.

Saturday’s activities began with an alumni tailgate at The Mill, just ahead of the football game. Alumni, friends, and family members gathered to enjoy the excitement of game day, bringing the Bulldog spirit alive in full force. Though Saturday’s events were open for personal plans, the tailgate allowed alumni to celebrate together and cheer on the Bulldogs before heading to the game.

MSU CVM’s Alumni Reunion Weekend saw a wonderful turnout, and the college is deeply appreciative of everyone who attended. Reconnecting with alumni and sharing in the memories and pride of the program was a highlight for both faculty and former students. The MSU CVM Alumni Council looks forward to building on this success and is already planning for next year’s celebration, hoping for an even bigger event to honor the college’s ever-growing alumni community. Thank you to everyone who made the weekend such a success—we can’t wait to see what next year has in store!  Please consider becoming an active member of the MSU CVM Alumni Council and participate in alumni engagement in the college.
